Logistics permeates every industry and business sector in the world – retail, life sciences, fashion, technology, construction, transport etc. This means that in addition to needing drivers and warehouse operatives, there's arequirement for business development and customer-facing personnel with expertise in the industries in which customers operate.
Less than a quarter of employees in the Logistics Industry are female.
The progression gap for women is widely recognised and documented most recently with studies conducted by the Chartered Management Institute which determined women are under-represented in senior positions and earn less than their male counterparts. This study also verified that male managers are 40% more likely than female managers to be promoted and there is a pay gap of 23% between male and female managers doing the same job. Evidence supports the need to assist women to make the most of themselves and their career development
